Update… Last week I was having horrible issues concentrating. I took some time off of the fast. I plan on completing the 100 days soon. This may be a huge let down to some of you to others not so much. I can say that in truth I did not feel well coming off of the fast and I can’t wait to get back on. I am feeling good now and no health issues. I may have pushed myself a little hard with the extra exercise while on the juice fast. In a week I have gained 7.5 pounds. One-two pounds of muscle , 5 pounds in my guts (i’m sure) and the rest is true weight. I am still juicing 1-2 meals a day. I will give it a few more days then I am hitting it hard and charge to the finish line. Thank you for your support, Happy Juicing!

I am so excited I have officially lost 100 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Awesome. I want to thank my family and friends for all the support. I have my eye on 50 more. wish me luck! On this Juice fast/feast I have lost 41 pounds in 54 days.

I have a love hate relationship with beets in my juice. Why? well I know they do good in my body. I know I get cleansed with them. They give me tons of vitamins, minerals and micronutrients. So for that I love them. They are messy, stain clothes and carpets, taste a little funny and yes! they cleanse my body. so for that reason I hate them. I have come to rely on them for juicing at least in 6-8 juices a week. I juice them with apples, carrots and ginger. Sometimes, I add them to a juice just to cut the acidity when I juice citrus. When I do juice beets I always juice the greens. I am sure I am getting something from that as well.
I drank tons of water yesterday and my scale tells me that I am stalled at my weight loss but I think he is lying. I think I am just hydrated. Happy Juicing all and have a great day!
Super Bowl Sunday
To all of my friends on the east coast good luck and to the west coast good luck as well. I have no dog in this fight but I am leaning towards San Francisco.
I have taken off 26 pounds these 22 days. I am hoping to have a couple of more pounds off by tomorrow. I have included some workouts (mild mostly push ups and sit ups). I plan on doing some running soon.
Running is a touchy subject. I hate it so. I have never been good at it. I was in the military and even at my ideal weight I ran like a broken barrel down the road , huffing and puffing all the way. I get shin splits and twisted ankles. I do know that some of that is related to weight but not all of it. I am a clumsy runner. Some day I would like to run a partial marathon like the Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon.
I have always enjoyed lifting weights, especially upper body work outs. Most of the muscle I had went to fat. Now I am trimming all that down. I hope all of you enjoy your day. Go Niners!
I have stalled my weight loss over the past few days. My diet has not changed but I think my body has gone into starvation mode. I have been lacking one important ingredient and that is drinking large amounts of water. Water was so important in my last fast and because I am in winter I guess I don’t think about water as much. So today I am going to step up my water consumption. I plan on doubling my juice intake with water. Wish me luck
Junk Food, Coffee, Soda and popcorn at work while you are on a juice fast can coexist. How? You may ask. Step one bring plenty of Juice so you don’t get hungry. Step two get so busy that you never have time to think about junk food.
I go a little far with it. I am so locked into this juice fast that I will walk right by the popcorn machine or the soda machine just to prove to myself that that junk doesn’t matter to me.
Thanks for all the great comments so far. I too have hunger for good food. Gogreenstaylean mentioned that hummus was something that sounded good. I think about having a G-Bombs salad. I learned how to do this by reading one of Dr. Fuhrmans books.
I add a twist to it.
Greens are salad greens with spinach. I just love spinach. Beans vary but My wife puts a pot of beans on every week or so, so pinto’s work. I some times will use bean sprouts or sunflower sprouts (yum).
Onions are cut thin. I don’t like chunky raw onions. Mushrooms, the doctor says one is fine but i go nuts; 3 or 4 for me. Berries include raspberries blue berries, tomatoes, grapes etc… For seeds I have been using many different ones. I have used almonds, sunflower meats, sesame as well as dried fruits like raisins. I put it all in a big bowl and add some Annie’s Goddess Dressing. Wow!!!
I could eat that everyday when I am not fasting.
